40k Astra Militarum: Cadian Heavy Weapons Squad

If you want to add a classic support option to your Astra Militarum army in Warhammer 40.000, the Cadian Heavy Weapons Squad is an obvious choice. The set includes 3 Cadian Heavy Weapons Teams, which can bring a range of heavy weapons to the table. That makes the unit an interesting choice if you want to add not only infantry but also precise firepower to your list. For Players and modelers, it’s a clear, thematically fitting addition with an Imperial character.

This box is especially worthwhile if your Astra Militarum army needs a clearer support role. Heavy Weapons Teams aren't meant to look spectacular, but to hold a line and apply pressure. If you want to round out your list sensibly instead of just buying more standard troops, this set is a good choice. The heavy weapon options mean the unit can fit into many army concepts. This makes it particularly interesting for Players who like to plan.

Collectors get a box here that looks very much like Astra Militarum and Cadians. Anyone who collects Imperial-themed armies will appreciate the clean look of these support models. The unit fits neatly into an existing Collection and doesn’t feel like a standalone piece. Instead, it adds a functional, thematically convincing element to an army. This is especially nice if you want to build your Collection as a cohesive whole.

The different heavy weapons give you plenty of flexibility to assemble the unit to suit your project. This is useful if you want to shape your army not just visually, but functionally too. For hobbyists who enjoy planning and choosing, this is a major plus. The box therefore doesn’t feel restrictive, but gives you enough freedom to adapt it to your Astra Militarum list. This balance is often valuable in day-to-day hobbying.

Many buyers first think of large squads when they think of Astra Militarum. But a Heavy Weapons Squad shows just how important targeted support can be in an army like this. If you want to strengthen your line or add a reliable firing position to your army, this unit is made for the job. It can make a noticeable difference in a game without requiring you to buy a large vehicle. It’s a refreshingly straightforward addition to many lists.

If you're deciding between a support unit and a vehicle, the choice mostly depends on how you want to build your army. The Heavy Weapons Squad is the more compact option and works well if you want precise firepower without fielding a large model. Vehicles are more eye-catching, but they're not always the better choice. For many Astra Militarum Players, a heavy weapons unit is the more sensible choice when they want to add flexibility to their list.

The box is a good choice for Players who want to expand their Astra Militarum army in a focused way, and for Collectors who prefer classic Cadians. The set can also be a good fit for Beginners who want to add a clearly defined support role to their army. The kit is straightforward but not simplistic, and fits well into a structured army project. Anyone looking for a functional unit will get a lot of value in a compact package.

The Cadian Heavy Weapons Squad is usually most enjoyable when you build it and bring it straight into the game. The unit is clearly designed for army building and works very well as a practical building block. If you keep Astra Militarum products as part of a faction collection, you can of course also keep the box unopened. But its greatest value clearly lies in using it as part of your army.
