AoS Maggotkin of Nurgle: Putrid Blightkings

If you want to add a sturdy melee unit to your Maggotkin of Nurgle, the Putrid Blightkings are an excellent choice. This Warhammer Age of Sigmar set adds five multipart plastic miniatures to your army and gives you plenty of options for different poses and equipment. If you’re looking for more than just another troop set and want a unit with a distinctive faction aesthetic, the Putrid Blightkings are a great fit for a Nurgle project. For gaming, Collection and painting, this is a unit that instantly looks like Maggotkin.

For many buyers, this type of box is appealing when they want to build their army around a distinct elite unit rather than individual models. Putrid Blightkings are a great choice if you're planning a themed Maggotkin of Nurgle army and value a unit that makes its presence felt on the table. The set also makes for a rewarding hobby project, as you can build and paint several models in one go. If you'd rather add a visible boost to your army right away, a box like this is often a better choice than individual character models.

For many collectors, Maggotkin of Nurgle is about more than the miniatures themselves; it’s about the cohesive look of the entire faction. Putrid Blightkings fit right into this kind of Collection because they strongly convey Nurgle’s dark, decayed aesthetic. If you organize your armies by faction or want to build a unified theme in your display case, a unit like this offers more than just any standalone model. The set is also appealing as a building block for a growing Age of Sigmar Collection because it fits seamlessly into an existing Nurgle display.

Players who want to add a durable unit to their Maggotkin of Nurgle will find the Putrid Blightkings a set that fits well into a melee-focused strategy. The five models are designed to work as a cohesive unit and help you build the feel of an army not just through heroes, but also through a resilient unit. Especially if you play Age of Sigmar actively rather than just collecting individual miniatures, a box like this is practical because it gives you several models for your army list and painting right away. This makes getting started on a Nurgle army project much more straightforward.

What makes the Putrid Blightkings special is their clear association with Maggotkin of Nurgle. If you're specifically collecting this faction, you're often looking for more than just powerful miniatures—you want models that fit together visually and thematically. That's exactly what this set is for. It fits well into armies that already consist of Nurgle models, and can also serve as a sensible next step if you want to build your Collection gradually rather than all at once. This makes the overall look much more cohesive later on.

With miniatures like the Putrid Blightkings, the card language may not be the main focus, but buyers still often pay attention to the exact product name and faction. In the hobby, it’s especially helpful to be able to tell right away when buying whether you’re looking at the right Nurgle set and can neatly add it to your Collection. Those who collect multiple armies or factions rarely want to guess when making a selection. A clear product name makes it easier to assign the set directly to the right project and find it again later.

If you're torn between a unit and a single hero, the comparison makes the choice much easier. The Putrid Blightkings give you five models at once, making them better suited to building your army, filling the battlefield, and painting a cohesive project. A character model is often the better choice if you're looking specifically for a leader. Here, though, you get more presence per box and a unit that stands out much more in an existing Maggotkin of Nurgle army. For many Players, that's exactly the deciding difference.

The Putrid Blightkings are especially suited to buyers who want to get started building right away. As an original, unopened set, they can also be put aside for a future hobby project if you’re currently painting other units first or haven’t finalized your army plan yet. For a Sealed collection, they’re most interesting if you’re specifically collecting Maggotkin of Nurgle and want to keep the boxes in their thematic order. If you’d rather get straight into building, this is a set that’s ready for the painting table without any extra steps.
