Magic: The Gathering Aetherdrift at a Glance
Magic: The Gathering Aetherdrift was released on February 14, 2025, and sends Players into a grand, plane-spanning race across the multiverse. At the Ghirapur Grand Prix, various racing teams compete on Avishkar, Amonkhet, and Muraganda. Vehicles, mounts, and speed therefore shape both the design and many of the expansion’s game mechanics. If you’d like to discover more Magic sets with a distinct world theme, Magic: The Gathering Edge of Eternities is another modern expansion.
Speed and Start Your Engines as a New Mechanic
A central new mechanic in Magic Aetherdrift is Speed. Cards with “Start Your Engines!” initially increase your speed to 1, after which it can rise to a maximum speed of 4. Various cards reward you for getting faster during a game or reaching Max Speed. This means the set incorporates its racing theme not only visually, but directly into the rules.
Vehicles, Mounts, Exhaust, and Cycling
Alongside Speed, Aetherdrift brings back several familiar mechanics. Vehicles can be crewed by creatures, Mounts can be used with Saddle, and Cycling lets you exchange situationally less useful cards for new ones. Exhaust is also included as a mechanic for especially powerful abilities that can normally only be activated once per permanent. You can find more Booster packs from various Magic sets at Magic: The Gathering Booster packs.
Aetherdrift Play Booster Box for big openings
The Magic: The Gathering Aetherdrift Play Booster Box – English contains 30 Play Booster packs, each with 14 Magic cards, plus a box topper pack with two foil cards. Play Booster packs are suitable both for regular opening and for Limited formats such as Draft and Sealed. This makes the Booster Box a great choice for larger Aetherdrift openings and Players who want to discover many cards from the set at once.
Magic Aetherdrift Commander decks with two strategies
For Commander players, the two preconstructed decks Living Energy and Eternal Might were released for Aetherdrift. Both offer a complete Commander deck with its own strategy and can be played right away or customized later. If you're generally interested in powerful cards and distinctive product concepts outside classic Standard sets, you can also explore Magic: The Gathering Modern Horizons 3.
Aetherdrift Bundle and Finish Line Bundle
A Magic Aetherdrift Bundle combines several Booster with lands, Accessories and a Storage Box. The Magic: The Gathering Aetherdrift Finish Line Bundle – English is even more extensive: it combines six Play Booster packs with two Collector Boosters, Foil lands, Promo cards, box toppers and additional Accessories. The Finish Line Bundle is therefore particularly suited to Collectors who want to get different pack types in one product.
Aetherdrift Collector Booster Box for special card variants
The Magic: The Gathering Aetherdrift Collector Booster Box – English is aimed more at Collectors interested in special card variants. The box contains twelve Collector Booster with 15 cards each, as well as an additional box topper pack. Collector Booster focus more on foil cards, special treatments and striking card designs, making them very different from regular Play Boosters.
